Email filtering changes

Have you noticed an increase in bounces or mail taking longer to deliver to your customers lately? Don’t worry you’re not alone.

Netcore has observed that some customers are seeing an increase in bounces with both Gmail and Yahoo mail users as a result of filtering changes at these mailbox providers. These changes are impacting senders with authentication issues and/or some data management practices. If this is impacting your email program here are some things you can do to make improvements on your own.

  1. Review your email’s configuration and update the settings in the email platform to ensure you’re publishing the proper SPF, DKIM, and link tracking records. Consider implementing DMARC as well to protect your domains from abuse by third parties. Using Grade My Email you can send a test email to see the current status of your account’s email configuration.
  2. Ensure that you are targeting only consent based (opt-in) recipients with your email communications. By sending consent based communications you’ll reduce complaints and improve domain reputation.
  3. Review your targeting and segmentation. Look to communicate with only the people that are actively engaged with your email program in the last 60 days to boost your domain’s reputation.
  4. Scale back your email volumes while your reputation normalizes and delivery rates improve.

If you’ve tried these items and you’re still having issues please contact our care team for further assistance in resolving your delivery issues.
