WhatsApp template character limits now enforced in netcore products

We’re informing you about an important update to WhatsApp message template character limits within Netcore CPaaS and Customer Engagement (CE) – WhatsApp, effective October 14, 2025.

What’s New?

To comply with Meta’s latest enforcement policies:

Utility templates

  • New limit: 512 characters (previously 1,024)

Marketing Templates

  • Character limit : 550 characters

  • Emoji limit introduced: Maximum 10 emojis

Templates that exceed these limits will now be rejected during creation or may fail during delivery, returning Meta error code: 2388040.

What You Need to Do

Please take the following steps to ensure uninterrupted delivery:

  • Review and update all Utility/Authentication templates to fit within the 512-character limit.

  • Limit emojis in Marketing templates to 10 or fewer.

  • Avoid starting or ending templates with placeholders/Variables.
