I hope this email finds you well. We wanted to inform you about an important update regarding WhatsApp message templates. As you may know, WhatsApp Business Platform has recently made changes to its template categories.

Effective April 1, 2023, WhatsApp Business Platform will introduce new template categories - AUTHENTICATION, MARKETING, and UTILITY. These changes are being made to improve the messaging experience and provide more flexibility in communication.

As a Business Solution Provider, Netcore Cloud will be facilitating these changes on behalf of WhatsApp Business Platform. To help you prepare for these changes, we have provided a brief overview of the new categories below:

AUTHENTICATION: This category is for one-time passcodes used for authentication purposes, such as account verification, recovery, and integrity challenges.

MARKETING: This category includes promotions or offers, welcoming/closing messages, updates, invitations, recommendations, and requests to respond or complete a new transaction.

UTILITY: This category includes messages that confirm or suspend a transaction, provide an update or reminder post-transaction, or any other message related to a specific, agreed-upon transaction.

Please note that any template that has a mix of utility and marketing content will be classified as a marketing template.

We also want to let you know that these changes will have an impact on pricing, and we will be sending out an update on the pricing changes in a follow-up email on March 15, 2023.

Additionally, if you believe that any of your templates have been miscategorized, we will be introducing an appeal process. We will send out a communication on March 15, 2023, explaining the appeal process in more detail.
