We’re informing you about an important update to WhatsApp message template character limits within Netcore CPaaS and Customer Engagement (CE) – WhatsApp, effective October 14, 2025.
To comply with Meta’s latest enforcement policies:
✅ New limit: 512 characters (previously 1,024)
✅ Character limit : 550 characters
✅ Emoji limit introduced: Maximum 10 emojis
Templates that exceed these limits will now be rejected during creation or may fail during delivery, returning Meta error code: 2388040.
Please take the following steps to ensure uninterrupted delivery:
Review and update all Utility/Authentication templates to fit within the 512-character limit.
Limit emojis in Marketing templates to 10 or fewer.
Avoid starting or ending templates with placeholders/Variables.
These limits apply to the message body only. Headers and footers are not affected.
